—Celebrating Madam Ekundayo This episode revisits the issue of adoption and orphanages in Nigeria. We take a trip to Madam Ekundayo’s orphanage in Kogi state, and talk to this 94 years old lady who has been taking in children since 1969.
We speak with some of these children as well as Madam Ekundayo’s biological daughter who is poised to take over the orphanage after her mother’s death. We also talk with government agencies, on why less than 2% of Nigeria’s orphans end up adopted. |
