I wonder why some people become rich and wealthy, and why some other set of people
become poor. Is it possible for everyone to be rich? What makes the rich, rich, and
what makes the poor, poor? What are the things that great people do that make
them achieve extra-ordinary results that the common man does not do? What are the
top laws of peak performance?
If you care to know, I have the answer to the afore mentioned questions, and I will
show you simple steps that can take you to the pinnacle of success if only you will dare to
put them to work. Your success ultimately is up to you. If you are great or if you are a
'nobody' you have no one else to blame except you. But you can start altering the sequence of
events in your life by working on the laws that I will share with you. Have a good read.
First, I want to clarify that everyone has the same brain. It was hitherto believe
that the
blacks are far behind in technology because they have a black brain. The whites
where at the front burner of new technologies because they have white brain. Having
a white brain was correlated to being brilliant. After a lot of argument, a
compromise was reached. It was
discovered that the brain only has gray matter. In other words, we all have the same
brain. It does not matter if you are fair or dark in complexion. It does not matter
if you are tall or short. The key to maximum achievement is learning how to run your
brain.
Success people all over the world have three common denominator. They are:
Perseverance, Planing, and Patience. Let’s look at Persistence
PERSISTENCE
When Bose Ayeni wanted to start her fast food-tantalizers, she went from pillar to
post for
money to start-up. She went from one bank to the other for financial aid.
Unfortunately, the
banks told her that they don’t finance start-ups, but she didn’t quit.. Today, her
fast
food company, Tantalizers, is in high demand.
How many times has your proposal being denied? How many times have your ideas died
because of lack of capital? How many times have you failed in business? Someone said
“the reason we fail is to learn to pick ourselves up.” Do not throw -in the towel.
Stick to your ideas.
There are no overnight successes. Success is achieved one day at a time. There is
the SW, SW, SW, SW formula. It means Some Will, Some Won’t, So What, Someone is
Waiting. Yes, someone is waiting for your products or services. Someone is waiting
to listen to your ideas. Never give up!
PLANNING
Proper planning Prevents Poor Performances. A house cannot be built without a plan. A
journey undefined typifies a destination that cannot be reached. You need to plan
the next five years of your life. Having a plan makes it easier for you to achieve
your goals. But you
have to start from setting smart goals.
SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time bound. A goal
is a list of all the things you hope to achieve within a stipulated time. If it were
impossible to
fail, what are twelve major things you would like to achieve? Whatever your answer,
that
could be your goal for the next five years.
Another way word for plan is strategy. You have to strategize by determine your
strengths, your weaknesses, your opportunities and your treats. Your treats are
those things that can stop you from reaching your goals. Your opportunities are the
people around you
that are willing to help you to reach your goals. Your weaknesses are things you
need to
achieve your goals that you currently lack. Your strengths are those things that you
are
extra-ordinarily gifted at. Once you've done your SWOT analysis, you have to watch
your garden.
PATIENCE Every farmer knows that there is a time interval between seed time and harvest.
Perhaps,
most fruits do not germinate the day they are planted. Planting a seed is not
enough. You will have to weed the farm land, you will need to add manure and fertilizer, you
need to water the plant, and wait patiently for the seed to germinate until it is ripe
enough for to be harvested.
Your goals are seeds. It will take time for your dreams to materialize. We may be
tempted to expect immediate result in this jet age. Speed is the order of the day.
But when it comes to living the life of your dreams, you have to understand that you
can only achieve success one step at a time.
Be patient. Don’t be too much in a hurry. I don’t mean you should be sluggish. I
don’t mean you should be idle. I mean you should prepare yourself thoroughly, and
then wait. Wait patiently for your opportunity to come. A proverb says “everything
comes to those who wait”.
I believe in taking quantum leaps. It goes a long way, but I also believe in taking
small
steps. You’ll hardly get tired or make mistakes by taking small steps. Use your
discretion
to know when to take a quantum leap, when to take small steps, and when to just WAIT.
Remember: Stick to your dreams, Plan for success, and WAIT patiently for your dreams
to
materialize into reality. Take charge.
